I've created a website. If my future comedy group stands, it's going to be our website. It's about just me right now. My info, my books, my photos, etc. I hope the comedy group is going to be formed soon, and it's going to be completed with the works by others.
I guess I'm going to post sketches and poems there as well.
And under "More", you'll find more subtitles, labels like scripts and books, portfolio, etc.
Anyone can join the site, by the way. Not only the future group-members. But if you want to join me as a group-member (I'm looking for girls who live in England for the basic team, and both genders and hermaphrodites for minor or background or temporal roles).
There will be a hobby-corner as well, where everybody can talk about his/her hobbies, put images of them (e. g. who loves to paint, can put pictures of one's paintings, drawings).
I forgot to mention a couple of things. The name, Commates is an abbreviation of Comedy Mates. And my plan is - if anybody wants to talk about his/her hobbies, interests, all major hobbies will get a page with different names (e. g. crime-fiction lovers' page would be called Crime-mates, or something like that. :-)) And of course, to promote your books or anything you want (even your own blogs), would be free, as the entire website is made for free. :-)
The background picture that appears on each page, that's not mine, I kept the original picture, but the rest of them were taken by me (well, obviously with the exception of the above mentioned 3 photos - two of them were taken by Kisch, and the other one by Opossum). :-)
And of course, the domain name sounds like 'comets', because it also reveals my - our - current situation, as a beginner, and my - our - hopes to get higher (and hopefully not getting lost in the dark matter or in the black holes).
the Unverse itself keeps on expanding and expanding, in all of the directions it can whizz. Well done with your particular expansion of the Universe Chrissy...
As we all know, the Big Bang theory started off as one of God's comedy skits (of the schlappschtick variety) and got a bit out of control.
and here we all are, watching the Commates whizz towards supernova status :)
As for my website, I removed the pictures, but I'm going to put them back shortly.
I also opened a webshop - this is something new. In the last few weeks or months I tried to learn crocheting and embroidery (yeah, you read it well! Even I'm surprised by this!) from my mum, and we've got some stuff. I'd like to know your opinion. Hopefully this link leads you there: http://www.etsy.com/shop/chrisxiv
I've got other stuff to be uploaded, and I'm going to upload them ASAP.
Ooh lovely! I've been knitting and crocheting for a few years (have yet to make any large, complex projects, just hats, scarves, bags, and fingerless gloves), an advanced beginner, I'd say. Haven't tried much embroidery, but my sister's pretty good at it. Keep at it!
I do all types of needlework, too. Been doing that since I was a child. Everybody in my family does that. I've made blankets, afghans, knitted, crochet, a little tatting, lacework, embroidery, made some lace tableclothes out of crochet thread, and also took a class in weaving at an art complex, so I did some designer weaving pieces that made the instructor laugh because I had humor in them as well. I also did a little watercolor but nothing to jump up and down about, but my needlework was really nice. I took orders from a gift shop before, and it all sold well, but you know, you get bored doing the same thing repeatedly. I also sew really well, did costumes of all types, did professional sewing for the public a short time, and people are pissy, wanting to pay very, very little for a lot of work. I designed my own clothes when I was in high school, made up the patterns myself, drew out the patterns, and stitched everything together and wore it. I hate math, but I can look at something and drew out the pattern for it almost instantly, free-handed, and be accurate. Some of the
banners and flags that I designed and made were sought after by other people because of how I put colors and textures together. Well anyway, so it takes money to buy the material, and I was always looking for scrap stuff here and there, salvage material, to remake into things. Some judges at a statewide event once spent most of their time on tape discussing the beauty and the colors of the flags that I had designed and made, and that wasn't part of the competition. They got sidetracked. It made me feel so good when I heard the tape! When I was a very young girl, I won a blue ribbon at the county fair because of a sewing project of mine. That was a big deal to me. It still is. I think I still have that ribbon.
I didn't mean to sound like I'm bragging, but here's the thing, I had a bad injury to my hands when I was a toddler, and then later as a teenager, I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hands. I was told to keep moving my fingers and hands, so that my hands wouldn't permanently freeze up or whatever. So I did a lot of needlework, before that, and then even more, after that. So it's not like it was totally easy for me to do. I worked harder at it to keep it easier for me to do. But I love crafts and arts, so it was all in great fun.
